FIGURE STUDY V — Velocity is the first work in the series where the body refuses stillness.

The figure turns forward, fabric sweeping outward in a dark arc that carries movement through the composition. There is weight in the posture, control in the gesture, and tension held beneath the surface.

The palette shifts deeper here — burnt copper, ember orange, dark sienna. The background presses forward rather than receding, giving the work a physical intensity that changes the rhythm of the series.

Movement exists within the composition, but it remains controlled. Nothing collapses into performance.

This is not stillness. It is controlled momentum.
