The work
MEDITERRANEAN STUDIES — Salt & Stone explores the feeling of standing inside a place shaped by sea, sun, and time.
Set within weathered Mediterranean architecture, the work holds the tension between strength and softness. Stone walls, coastal light, and distant water create a sense of permanence, while the figure brings quiet human presence to the scene.
The composition is still but not empty. Light moves across textured surfaces, warm stone, and the figure’s form, creating a balance between intimacy and scale. The sea remains present beyond the architecture, not as escape, but as atmosphere.
Built through warm tonal depth, painterly texture, and Mediterranean light, the work draws from contemporary figurative painting traditions where landscape, architecture, and body carry equal emotional weight.
