MEDITERRANEAN STUDIES — The Arch explores the feeling of standing between what is known and what lies beyond.
An ancient stone arch frames the Mediterranean coastline while warm light travels across weathered walls, flowering vines, terracotta vessels, and worn stone beneath. The sea remains visible beyond the opening, creating a sense of distance that extends beyond the immediate scene.
The figure moves quietly through the threshold. The architecture anchors the moment. The horizon remains expansive.
Built through atmosphere, architecture, and light, the work draws from contemporary Mediterranean figurative painting traditions where place carries as much emotional weight as the figure itself.
